Jorge Jimenez is an urban policy professional specializing in economic development, small business procurement, stakeholder and community engagement, and the built environment. Jorge has over 10 years of experience working in a broad range of topics and capacities, from music and the arts to education and community organizing, as well as political campaigns, voter rights and engagement, parks and public spaces, government procurement, and digital equity. Prior to consulting for America Achieves, Jorge worked at the Aspen Institute leading research on small and minority business procurement for the new economy and digital equity for economic development. Prior to working at the Aspen Institute, Jorge gained experience in urban planning consulting in the areas of public spaces and parks, active transportation, and green energy. Other projects have data analysis of education policy and economic analysis of public spaces.
Participating in opportunities to support his community of peers has been a dedication of Jorge, and to that end, he has served in several leadership positions for non-profit organizations. Jorge co-founded and served as vice president of a youth-focused voter registration organization in Kissimmee, FL, and served as president of a community engagement organization at Columbia University in New York. Most recently, Jorge served as a 2024 fellow for the New Leaders Council in Washington, DC.
