Gil advises both for profit and not-for-profit clients in the areas of finance and financial strategy deployment, as well as corporate governance. He sits on the boards of Make Believe Ideas Limited (UK), America Achieves, Inc., and The Arlene & Jules Siegel Foundation, Inc. and is a trustee of The Park School of Buffalo and the Maurice R. Robinson Fund Inc.
As the former Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL), he was responsible for global treasury operations, portfolio management, financing, insurance and risk management, investor relations, and business development functions. Prior to joining Scholastic in 2006, Gil was an executive officer and treasurer of Crane Co. (NYSE: CR), a highly engineered industrial products company, where he was also the lead trustee for the company’s philanthropic foundations and charitable giving programs. He has also held various positions in treasury, finance, and portfolio management with American Express and Hess Corporation. He holds an MBA in finance and is certified in lean enterprise systems design and operational excellence six sigma. Earlier in his finance career, Gil was also an adjunct professor of finance and business management at the City University of New York’s Borough of Manhattan Community College. He currently resides in Lakeville, Connecticut.
