Since joining the Fellowship, Mary has worked on a variety of projects and initiatives to increase the organization’s impact and reach. Mary recently transitioned into the New York Program Manager role, overseeing the Educator Voice Fellowship in New York. Mary graduated from the University of Georgia with an A.B.J. in Public Relations and a B.A. in Spanish. Her previous work in education includes tutoring low-income students, teaching at an elementary school in Atlanta through Teach For America, and working as a project manager for an education technology startup. Wanting to gain a deeper knowledge about the issues surrounding education and levers for improvement, Mary attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she earned her Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management in 2015. She currently lives in New York City and enjoys traveling, yoga, and exploring the city’s food, comedy, and music scenes.
