Jumoke Balogun is the Head of Program and Director of Operations and part of the founding team of Merit America. She has extensive experience in community engagement in labor and civil rights. Before leveling up, she worked as an impact producer, creating partnerships between documentary filmmakers and civil right leaders that contributed to meaningful social change. She previously served as an advisor to former U.S. Secretary of Labor Tom Perez and oversaw engagement between the Obama administration and key stakeholders working on issues at the intersection of civil and labor rights. Previously, she supported grassroots organizations as a communicator at Advancement Project, a national racial justice organization. She also served on the national media team at SEIU.
Jumoke received her BA in Media Relations from the University of Missouri Kansas-City and her MA in International Affairs from American University.
