Elyse serves as a Program Manager for the Global Learning Network. Prior to joining America Achieves, she spent four years in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles where she worked with major film studios and independent production companies in the financing, marketing, and release of films. Elyse got her start in education working with KIPP Inspire Academy in St. Louis as a consultant where she concentrated on leveraging community partnerships to enhance the resources available to students. Elyse is a 2014 alumna of the Education Pioneers fellowship program; as a fellow at America Achieves, she focused on strategic planning for the Global Learning Network and the development of opportunities for school and district leaders from across the country to share best practices. Elyse earned a BA in international development from UCLA and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
What draws you to the work of America Achieves?
The dedication of the entire America Achieves team is incredibly inspiring. I am very excited to have the opportunity to engage in such impactful work that is focused on significantly changing the educational landscape in the United States.
What do we most need to focus on to improve the lives of America’s youth?
It is crucial that we provide teachers with the support that they need to achieve maximum effectiveness while arming parents with an understanding of how they can shape their child’s education.
